First Person Action Research Initiative – What, briefly, this is all about.

Applied Learning!

Learning about spiritual health and ourselves, as well as for others.

Applying our learning to evolve the resilience of our spiritual health, and that of others; enabling us to become resilient spiritual health practitioners.

There are a number of intentions I have in mind for this initiative:

The conception, development and early growth of Inspire Spiritual Health, and documentation of this, using a form of research method known as First Person Action Research (Judith Marshall. 2016). In this instance, it is via a synthesis, testing and application of:

Critical Reflective Practices
Resilience from within Complexity Theories
Heuristics.

I am adopting these as, after a number of years exploring issues of spirituality, health, research, knowledge, practice, power, and actions. I am attempting to draw on my tacit knowledge, explicit knowledge, skills and experiences, to undertake and craft a considered synthesis of the above at this time. My aim being to provide a potentially fruitful place to continue my research into spiritual health from. This approach ensures Inspire Spiritual Health is grounded in reflection-driven practical actions and research – Praxis.

It needs to be laid out well enough that it inspires others to use it and to contribute their Inquiries into a body of research that I envision growing and evolving from Inspire Spiritual Health. This being available to others; giving them access to learning, experiences and ideas of those who have used and shared their inquiries and initiatives into Inspire Spiritual Health. In doing so, increasing the possibility of resonance with them, enabling themselves and others to experience and increase their own spiritual health resilience; Inspired Spiritual Health. Thus adventurously advancing our quest for spiritual health, in so doing powering the flourishing of human health; now and into the future!

The First Person Action Research Initiative is the first stage necessary to underpin the development of Action Learning Teams. These Action Learning Teams consisting of members who want to undertake their own Inspire Spiritual Health research inquiries and initiatives. The Action Learning Teams being constituted with people who all want to do this, and facilitated by at least one person who has already successfully done so. This, being in order to act as inspiration and part of a network with others in the Action Learning Team, to facilitate, inspire, share experiences and learning, enabling and supporting all other members in each Action Learning Team towards successful completions of their own inquiries and initiatives.

As people gain confidence and experience in First Action Research, they may be inspired to want to consider identifying and working on joint inquiries and initiatives; as Participatory Action Research Communities. This third stage building on the preceding two stages.

I aim to be the first Inspire Spiritual Health person to progress through all three stages and as such, be in a position to facilitate others who choose to also adventure down this route. This will result in a route opening up for others also to be facilitators and expand rapidly the numbers, range and depths of inquiries and initiatives that can be incorporated into an Inspire Spiritual Health body of knowledge and experiences. This being readily available for others to read, consider, possibly act upon, and share.
